Hi Jasmine, I just wanted to drop you a line and tell you that I think your PT-oriented blog is fantastic! It’s great that people can ask you questions about the application process or read your insight on health-related issues. I hope you’re enjoying school! – PT to be ’13 :)

Thanks so much! I think your gratitude blog is a really cool idea too.

Hi there! I just came upon one of your entries about PT Aide and so I wanted to ask you a few questions. I’m going in for an interview tomorrow, for a therapy aide position. Could you give me examples of questions they could possibly ask? Any advice would be great also. :)

Each place is different, but I imagine they’ll ask you questions like: “Why do you want to be a physical therapist?” “Why do you want to work here?” “Why do you want to work in this setting? (inpatient, outpatient, acute, etc)” “How will you be able to contribute to our workplace?” Make sure to do

Yeah, I have another question about applying timetables. Generally, the applications that start in July are for admission in the summer of the next year? Specifically why I’m asking is because as an incoming Junior this year, once I start my application July after junior year, would I be able to get admitted into PT school after I’ve completed senior year? The summer of 2014.

Yes. Every program has a different deadline (usually around November-January). You finish your application(s) before then, and then hear back sometime in the spring, depending on the program, for admission the following summer or fall. Some programs also have rules about which pre-req’s you can/can’t have outstanding at the time of application. You can check

HI I thoroughly enjoy the helpfulness of your blog. I’m currently an incoming undergrad junior this Fall ’12 and plan to apply to DPT programs in Fall ’13. Do you know what’s the earliest I can start the application? Whether it expires in a certain amount of time? Also, I just started my volunteer/observation hours. For the programs that require verification from a PT, am I able to get that done early on the PTCAS application and also not expire? Any insight would be appreciated, thanks!

Hi, I just looked through your blog, and it looks great! I’m glad you find my blog helpful. For most schools, you’ll be applying through PTCAS. PTCAS becomes available in the first week of July, but it erases each year, so if you’re not applying until Fall 2013, don’t start PTCAS until July 2013 at

NY Med

I am excited about the new show “NY Med,” which premiered last night on ABC not only because it’s a reality-TV “Grey’s Anatomy,” but also because it takes place at the Cornell and Columbia NewYork Presbyterian Hospitals (my alma mater and current school). It was fun to see the shots of the buildings where I’ll
