Ty for the follow. Awesome blog! Any recommendations on blogs similar to yours? Also, is it too personal a question to ask where you currently attend?

Thanks! I go to Columbia University, but my blog is not affiliated with the school. I’ve seen other similar blogs in the past, but I don’t know of any at the moment that are still writing. Let me know if you find any good ones yourself.

PT is a Top 10 Job

This list highlights roles for which a college degree is required and where the jobs posted by companies each month outnumbers the workers employers are able to hire. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a job rankings list, but now that the end of the year is approaching, more should be coming along. Forbes

Evolution of this Blog

I’ve been thinking for the past few months about how this blog should evolve now that I am almost done with Physical Therapy school. Once I am working with patients, I don’t want to breach their confidentiality (and the law) by writing about them, and I don’t have nearly enough experience to write about my

Hello. I have been reading your posts for about a year now and I have learned a lot from you. I am an undergrad with 3 semesters left until graduation. I have good grades and will more than likely get into a physical therapy program but I feel like those grades don’t really reflect my knowledge. I guess my question is in what ways can I prepare myself for physical therapy school? Will studying anatomy and physiology a bit each day prepare me? Just how much physics material will I need to know?

As long as you fulfill the pre-requisites that the school wants you to take, you should be prepared for PT school. If you take the physics classes as your pre-req’s it will be enough. Studying anatomy is great because it’s one of the most important aspects of PT, but that is probably also a pre-req,

I am currently stagnant when it comes to the PTCAS essay prompt as well as my own personal statement for PT programs. How was your process of writing up the personal statement and PTCAS essay when you were applying? I know I should have many people take a look at whatever I got once its drafted, but I’m not sure where to start. Do you suggest taking a look at other written personal statements? I just don’t want that to stunt my creativity and originality.

I started writing the essay a few separate times without looking at what I had written previously so that each time I wrote it, I wrote from a different angle. Eventually I read everything I had written, and pulled the parts I thought were best. If you think it would be helpful to look at

#IceBucketChallenge

After being inspired by my fiance doing the ice bucket challenge and donating, and my classmate Hannah, I decided to donate to the ALS Association, which you can do here. Although some people have called the challenge annoying and useless, it has actually raised MILLIONS of dollars in the past few weeks. The challenge was

Hi! I just started following your blog and like many others, I am interested in pursuing physical therapy. I plan on applying to DPT programs this fall. My main struggle has been writing my personal statement. I don’t want to sound like all the other applicants. I have been fortunate to have completed my observation hours at a renowned rehabilitation center in a primarily inpatient setting. Should I discuss my experience there as a main component? Space is so limited!Advice would be appreciated!

Hi z0rba, the vast majority of application essays discuss the reason the applicant became interested in PT and/or the experience they’ve had in the field. It seems like your essay will fall into this category, but that doesn’t necessarily mean your essay has to sound like all the others. You should pick a topic about
