The short answer? Nothing!
If you’re lucky enough to have some time off after getting into physical therapy school, take full advantage of it. Spend time with friends and family, explore your hobbies, and maybe even travel if you can do so inexpensively. In short, try to do all the things you won’t have time for when you’re a busy physical therapy student.
You also should consider working to make money and try to offset the costs of PT school if you can. PT aide jobs don’t always make you a lot of money, but they can be a good way to get continued experience that will only help you in your future career.
What you shouldn’t do is study. If you’ve completed the pre-reqs your future physical therapy program requires, be confident that you have the knowledge you’ll need to succeed in PT school. Brushing up on things beforehand might just stress you out unnecessarily, and may not even be helpful, as each professor will have a preferred method for how they want you to learn the information.
If you absolutely must do something, you can never go wrong with reviewing anatomy. Depending on the amount of time you have, you should also consider getting verified in first aid and CPR, and taking care of any appointments you can get out of the way before school starts, such as the eye doctor or dentist. Tackle all the adult things on your to-do list you’ve been putting off, such as getting your car inspected or renewing your passport. Getting these things out of the way now will make life easier when you’re busy with schoolwork.
But most of all, celebrate all that you’ve accomplished and relax!
