Hey Jasmine! Thanks for creating such a helpful and wonderful site! I am also interested in becoming a physical therapist. I was wondering if you could share some of your opinions on the paperwork required as a physical therapist? Do you find it a time consuming hassle at your setting? How much time do you spend on it? Thanks in advance, and I hope everything is going great at your work!

The paper work is time consuming, but not too bad. Between breaks in my schedule and lunch, I am able to get it done easily. Sometimes, I have to stay for up to half an hour to finish it at the end of the day, but that’s just part of the job description. I am also getting faster at it as I get more experience. Honestly, the paper work is pretty helpful since it documents everything I do with a patient and I wouldn’t remember everything if I didn’t write it all down. It can also protect PT’s legally, and it helps at my office where we share many patients with PTAs. Through notes we can easily see what another therapist has been doing with each patient. Before each visit, I always skim through my notes from previous sessions to remember how the patient has been progressing and decide what to do in the coming session.
