Interesting PT ethics question in today’s NYT (last question). Should PT’s be reimbursed by patients for doing things like reviewing exercise DVD’s? My thought is that if the PT does want to get reimbursed, she should state it before reviewing the DVD. But I wonder if she should be reimbursed the same as for a session or not. On the one hand, reviewing an exercise DVD is less arduous than performing manual therapy. On the other hand, PT skills are PT skills and they should be compensated the same.
What do you think?
