Getting out of the classroom, again

I just finished a challenging semester of school. One that was supposed to be the hardest semester of all. While I’m not sure if I agree, it definitely was challenging. Long hours of class, followed by even longer hours of studying. However, since it was second semester of the second year, most of the classes were very interesting and applicable to what I’ll be doing full time in just over a year. Having been out in the clinic world, it was easier to see how everything we’re learning comes together.

Which is why I’m so excited about starting my second clinical next week! This time I’ll be in a SNF in upstate New York, and I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve really enjoyed working with geriatric patients in the past, and I think it will be a great experience to get more experience in this type of setting. Although I’m a little nervous since (of course) I will be new to this setting, I realize that that just means I’ll get to learn a lot.

As always, I probably won’t write a ton about my clinical for privacy reasons, but I’ll try to write more broadly about it when I can since being out of the classroom is just so exciting. Wish me luck!
