Getting Feedback on Being a PT Aide

I had a long talk today with one of the owners of the PT practice where I’m an aide about how I’ve been doing over the past two months. Now that I feel like I’ve gotten the hang of the job, it was good to hear some really constructive criticism. He outlined a few areas I need to work on in a very clear way. These things didn’t really come as a surprise to me, but it was helpful to discuss them with my boss and think about how I can improve in the future.

He also gave me a lot of positive feedback, which was very encouraging. He said I’m doing a great job trying to learn and ask questions, and that he can tell I care a lot. I’m glad to know that those qualities of mine are coming through. He added that a bunch of the patients have told him that they enjoy working with me, which thrilled me since meeting and talking to the patients is one of my favorite parts of the job. And since being able to heal them after a few years of studying is my greatest goal, I was so encouraged when he told me he thinks I’ll be a great physical therapist.
